How Long Does It Take to Remodel In Corvallis?

When you’re gearing up for a remodeling project, knowing how long it will take is key for planning and peace of mind. In Corvallis, as in any other place, the timeline for renovations can vary depending on what you’re doing. We’ll break down the remodeling timelines in the Mid-Willamette Valley for the different types of projects we offer, including sprucing up your kitchen or bathroom, giving your whole home a makeover, or building a custom home.

Kitchen Remodels

Let’s start with the heart of the home – the kitchen. A typical kitchen remodel goes through a few stages: first, you’ve got the preliminary design phase, where we brainstorm ideas and figure out what you want. That usually takes around 4 weeks. Then comes the design development stage, where we get into the nitty-gritty details and finalize the plans – that’s about another 4 weeks. After that, we move into final preparations. Once the final contract is signed, we typically allow 4–6 weeks for construction to begin, ensuring materials are ordered and received and ready for a smooth start.

From there, it’s time to roll up our sleeves and get to work on construction. Depending on what you’re doing, this phase can take anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months.

Bathroom Remodels

Next up, let’s talk bathrooms. Kitchen and bathroom remodels both have a preliminary design phase and a design development phase of 4 weeks each, followed by final preparations before construction begins. After the final contract is signed, we allow 4–6 weeks for materials to arrive and scheduling to align, helping the project start efficiently.

Once construction begins, timelines can vary based on the project’s scope and other factors, such as material availability and any surprises we might encounter along the way.

Whole Home Renovation

Ready to give your entire home a facelift? A whole-home renovation requires more planning and coordination. The preliminary design phase for this type of project usually lasts around 6 weeks, followed by another 6 weeks for design development. After the final contract is signed, we plan for a 4–6-week preparation period before construction begins, so that materials and scheduling are fully aligned. Construction can take several months, depending on your home’s size and the extent of the renovations.

Additions

Consider adding some extra space to your home. Adding an addition involves a process similar to remodeling, with a preliminary design phase (about 6 weeks) and a design development phase (another 6 weeks). If your addition requires engineering work, add an extra 2 weeks to the design phase. After contract signing, we allow 4–6 weeks for ordering materials and coordinating schedules before construction begins. Construction timelines vary based on the size and complexity of the addition, but you can expect it to take several weeks to several months to complete.

Custom Home Build

Finally, if you’re starting from scratch with a custom home build, the process will take a bit longer. The preliminary design phase lasts around 6 weeks, followed by 8 weeks for design development (plus an extra 3 weeks if engineering is needed). Once the final contract is signed, we schedule construction to begin approximately 4–6 weeks later, allowing time for materials to be ordered and delivered. Construction timelines for custom homes can range from several months to over a year, depending on the project’s size and complexity.

Understanding the remodeling timelines in Corvallis for different types of renovations is essential for planning and managing your project effectively.
