Walnut Golden Glow

Whole House Remodel | Corvallis, OR

  • The Design Challenge

Beyond the kitchen, the main level didn’t function well for daily life or entertaining. The spaces lacked cohesion and clear purpose, with the living, dining, and entry areas feeling loosely connected rather than truly unified. Without defined gathering zones or a strong focal point, the home felt incomplete and couldn’t support the welcoming, comfortable atmosphere the homeowners wanted.

  • The Details

To introduce an actual gathering point, we added a bar and beverage station that brings both function and personality to the main level. Integrated lighting on this beverage station keeps the plants thriving year-round. At the same time, the overall design creates a natural spot for entertaining and helps define the flow between the kitchen, dining, and living spaces.

  • The Details

A new dual-sided fireplace anchors the living room and den, offering warmth, balance, and a clear focal point. By keeping it dual-sided, we preserved a nod to the home’s original design while elevating the space and strengthening the connection between the two rooms.

Integrated beverage drawers keep refreshments conveniently within reach while maintaining a clean, streamlined look. Hidden behind custom walnut fronts, they offer organized, temperature-controlled storage that blends seamlessly with the cabinetry design.

A discreet dishwasher drawer adds ease of use and accessibility to the bar area. Its placement allows effortless cleanup without interrupting the flow of the space, making it perfect for entertaining and everyday convenience alike.

Tucked beneath the plant display, a built-in wine fridge offers convenient, temperature-controlled storage that blends seamlessly into the cabinetry design. Its placement keeps bottles easily accessible for entertaining while maintaining the space’s clean, modern aesthetic. The combination of functionality and subtle integration makes it a perfect complement to this lively, light-filled corner of the home.

The fireplace serves as both a divider and a connector, offering a warm view into the den while preserving an open, seamless flow between the two spaces. Its custom step-tile detail pays homage to the home’s original design and introduces added depth and dimension. Surrounded by warm walnut and crisp, modern lines, the feature blends contemporary style with the inviting comfort of daily living.
